THE MAIN INGREDIENT 2-Year Anniversary (promo video #1)

The Main Ingredient - August 2010 (2-Year Anniversary)

THE MAIN INGREDIENT are proud to celebrate our 2-year anniversary this Saturday at Revival, marking the 24th month of this soulful music monthly, one of the only events of this nature in Toronto and in Canada overall.

We’ll be celebrating with a FREE BBQ for the first 200 paid cover to the party this month, BBQ starts at 8pm and runs until 10pm, so arrive early to take advantage of this perk.

Watch the video below for the full details. Thanks for Planet Pea of uomo on the 3D graphic design, and Chris Thomas from doinitwell.com on the flyer design – been pushing out flyers since our debut, 22 flyers strong.

August also debuts our Women of Toronto flyer cover feature, with miss Tiff Mak gracing the cover of our debut in celebration of her July b-day when the flyer dropped. THE MAIN INGREDIENT will be featuring some of the most talented women in our city of Toronto, all captured by Manifesto executive director and High-Top photographer Che Kothari.

Introducing Tiff Mak:

Tiff Mak is a young, multi-talented performer from Toronto, Canada. Beginning her career as a classical ballet dancer, turned bgirl, she is credited for an innovative style called “Street Ballet.” Her unusual fusion of dance forms was featured in several productions by the extreme martial arts group Team Ryouko, including their performances at Massey Hall. She also shines as a creative director, and in 2009 was the playwright for a production featuring Team 2Xtreme at the Rogers Centre.

Above and beyond her love of movement, Tiff is also a singer with an infectious and soothing style. Influenced by the sensual rhythms of house music, her gift of expression comes from a deep rooted love of writing, as she is both a passionate singer and lyricist. During her career in Toronto, Tiff has performed with such Toronto emcees as The Identity Crisis, Mindbender, and Masia One. With a great love of the urban arts community, Tiff has also co-hosted the One City Series, “Behavior” in 2009. Currently, she is a part of a street dance company called Catalyst, who recently fundraised for Free the Children charity at their debut production, “The 5th Element.”

Check out Tiff Mak this Sunday, August 15th at The Mod Club for the all female artist showcase, Honey Jam. Don’t miss this special performance featuring street dance company Catalyst, and extreme martial artist, Jonny Caines.
