k-os “I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman” feat. Saukrates & Nelly Furtado (prod by Rich Kidd)

I’ll start this post by sayin’ BIG UP to Rich Kidd on this one!

Now, I heard this track back last winter, about 14-months ago now, when Saukrates pulled out a little treat at the end of his set at The Real Frequency radio show 15-year anniversary party at Polson Pier.

Being the TV geek that I am, a sucker for some TV shows that I probably wouldn’t like to admit, the track flipped the sample used for The O.C. TV show (RIP… the series ended back around that same time). The track by the way is “California” by Phantom Planet (watch it).

This song is a recipe for huge success for k-os, even wider spread than he’s had in his successful career thus far. It doesn’t hurt having another Canadian giant Nelly Furtado joining in on the hook on this one either, and of course Saukrates in the mix (two notable BIG placements for Sauks in the past few weeks… Ayo!).

“I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman” is rumoured to be the second official single from k-os new album YES! which dropped in Canada yesterday, Tuesday, April 14th.

k-os will debut his new music live in Toronto at the Kool Haus on Saturday, May 9, at a show where there will be NO advance tickets, instead it’ll be PWYC (pay what you can) or ultimately FREE for the cheap asses. There will be 3 “karma” stations inside the venue where concert goers can take the options to donate to the David Suzuki Foundation, to a “Karma table” or a cash-only drop box on the way out. Copies of k-os new album and remix album will be available at these tables as well. This show is part of the “Karma” tour which will travel across Canada between April 30 and May 16, with ALL shows pay what you can basis.
