It’s very rare you can find a producer that has a good grasp on both the East and West coast sound to their production.

In some cases you may say it’s biting, but in the case of Statik Selektah, the man has a genuine grasp over sounds that have influenced hip hop over the past 15-years, the boom bap gritty street music of the East Coast and the g-funk inspired West Coast sound.

There’s been very few who can flip both, which I think is why I’m such a big fan of Statik Selektah, obviously also due to how quickly and regularly this guys can churn out top quality production – stuff that honestly makes alot of current hip hop production seem pretty simplistic and boring.

Check out a new Statik Selektah track taken from the Midnight Club L.A. soundtrack.
