Rock The Bells Toronto: Arrow Hall

Rock The Bells

Well, it appears Rock The Bells in association with Live Nation have successfully locked a Toronto date for the hip hop extravaganza this year. It’s rumoured that Molson Amphitheatre, the venue hosting the Glow In The Dark tour next week, was the initial target for Rock The Bells Toronto, but due to objections from the City of Toronto the event had to be moved to an alternate venue – which turns out to be Mississauga’s Arrow Hall located near Pearson airport.

The Toronto line-up looks like this…

A Tribe Called Quest
NAS
Mos Def
De La Soul
Rakim
Method Man & Redman
MURS
Spank Rock
Kid Sister
The Cool Kids
Wale (Toronto debut)
Jay Electronica (Toronto debut)
B.O.B. (Toronto debut)
Kidz In The Hall (Toronto debut)
Amanda Blank
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS: The Pharcyde

Hosted by: B-Real, supernatural & Scratch, and DJ Green Lantern

Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, May 23 exclusively at Ticketmaster locations (www.ticketmaster.ca).

While you wait, be entertained by Peter Rosenberg’s Rock The Bells 2007 NYC coverage. Maybe Toronto can actually bring out a higher percentage of white folk than NYC did in ’07. Haha.

  1. I love how this video just clowns on white dudes.
especially screaming white dudes screaming about Rage Against The Machine.

as a white dude who loves RATM and feels he is a different person because of that band’s existence, I’d like to say that not ALL white dudes into Rage that went to Rock The Bells last summer in NYC are complete douchebags, I was there and I participated in NO SUCH douchebaggery.

and whats up with that white d-bag droppin the N-bomb? is that EVER cool? no.
would Zach De La Rocha (vocalist of Rage) be proud? NO. and did you hear him trying to justify his use of the word with the explanation “Zach De La Rocha is Mexican”- he is only HALF Mexican- he is also half white actually if you check your fucking facts, and that STILL bares NO relevance to saying ni**a & I am sure Mr. De La Rocha would NEVER drop the N-bomb even though I am sure he is down with many black people.

I love hip hop. I also love metal. if there’s 1 thing I hate about metal, its METALHEADS- people so into metal that they are just idiots, especially when a camera is pointed in their general direction.

generally speaking, I just hate stupid people- ignorant people fall into this category too.

  2. oh and count on more white folk being at the Toronto (mississauga?) RTB show than in NYC.
all of bramptons thug population is going to come out in droves for this show!

lets just hopes its 10x better than the fiasco that was Marc Ecko’s Getting Up Festival was…

That’s a pretty interesting combination of Hip Hop and Hipster Hop.

  4. To love rap, live hip-hop in Canada is a tough life. These promotions get everyone hype around getting access to what music is about. Live acts. Ciphers, improv, energy, no scripts, come on. To play with that in which we love most is F’d. These “business” men need to get their ‘Business” in order and represent the people right. Rock the Bells 2007, Mark Ecko Getting Up and whad up this year. I got my ticket cause I like to gamble to support the potential of future shows. Dont get overzealous and let the Headz, the people down.

If anyone has any underground access, share any updates land et the people know.

  5. I doubt the gangster white kids from toronto that you’re talking about:

    a) know of 95 percent of who’s on the bill
    b) or if they do, they dont listen to it…

I will say yeah there will be nuff white people…BUT WHO GIVES A FUCK!?

I dont think De La, Pharycde, Tribe, Cool Kids, Kidz in the hall, have a “white gangster” fan base!

  6. That’s really wack that ghostface isn’t going to be at that show.

  7. no ghost and rae?….
i guess no verbal intercourse with nas lol
the pharcyde n kidz in the hall would be nice to see…but when youve been hyped to see ghostface for the last 3-4 months…fuck…i dont even wanna go anymore
