Craig G and Marley Marl “Made The Change”

Craig G

Craig G and Marley Marl will be collaborating to release the album Operation: Take Back Hip-Hop, an obvious aim by the Juice Crew members to return hip hop to it’s classic form.

Instead of me wasting years complaining along with journalists and everyone else, Marley and I are trying to make change through music.

The album will feature appearances from KRS-One, Talib Kweli, Sadat X, and Rakaa Iriscience of Dilated Peoples.

Now, with a lofty album title like this I would expect to hear some fire from them, and out the box Craig G and Marley Marl have released a debut single that doesn’t disappoint.

Operation: Take Back Hip-Hop is scheduled for a June 17 release on Philly based indie label Good Hands Music.  Look out for a May 20th release from Killah Priest (Behind The Stained Glass) and Camp Lo’s return album In Black Hollywood (currently available), both on Good Hands Music.  Listen to Killah Priest’s single “I Believe” and Camp Lo’s “Black Hollywood” at the Good Hands Music myspace here.
