Jay Z retires! Again!

After three years of serving as President and CEO of Def Jam Records, Jay Z announced that he was stepping down.

According to, Jay Z was asking for more money, which he didn’t get. But it seems to make more sense that after serving three years in that position, he’d want to try something new. Because he’s obviously not hurting for cash. See here. And here. And here. Jay Z can afford to work for free.

MTV looks at who may hypothetically be in the running as his replacement. If anyone knows of any bookies taking cash on this, I’d like to know the odds. My money’s on Chuck D.
